WD-312

WD-312 is the boat registration number and a great title for this painting. I love boats out of water as much as i do in it. They appear to be bigger and more 'alive'. This particular day i was lucky! The work men were painting the masts from rusting and i just did a 'thumbnail' (small, immediate sketch). I finalised it in the studio. I did most of the painting in mundane tones: greys and light browns to pull the viewer to the main centre of interest: the workmen.
