'Winter Sun on the Ice Box'

I enjoyed painting this as i have many times before. I could name all the trawlers off by heart! This painting is so strong in shadow and light, especially in the walls and pier section. The boats are in from a days fishing and moored like aligned soldiers. Trawlers always take me in - the way they rock in the sea, and a quietness which can't be described. I'm always learning more about vessels.
