'Snow & Ice Ballybetagh Road'
Painted during the snow flurry we had some weeks back just after Christmas. I did a few sketches and thumbnail drawings for tonal value, also a good while studying the surroundings to give me a better knowledge of the scene. With this i took a photo for harmony reference.
A beautiful location for any artist; be it painter, writer or photographer. It's only a 'stones throw' from my home. I loved the tranquility and silence, especially in the snow covered fields. The lane is the central focal point that leads the eye into the farm to the left top of painting. The crows add a sense of some activity of life, in what appears to be otherwise dead of life.
