In coming tide at Seapoint, Co. Dublin

This was a challenge to get on watercolour, the rocks and seaweed were of subtle colours/hues in the overcast light...deceptive! The day was very dull with misty hanging cloud. I only did a study sketch in pencil, writing everything down i would want to remember: 'pearly grey sky', 'rocks NOT grey or brown'..etc. I could smell the sea and all it had to offer vividly as there was little wind. The scene from the opposite side of the tower is awful. This is a perfect perspective. The water out on the bay was like a massive sheet of glass and the floppy waves lapped along the shore like a comfort blanket.
